MPI_File_get_byte_offset(3) MPI_File_get_byte_offset(3)

NAME
MPI_File_get_byte_offset - Returns the absolute byte position from a
     view-relative offset

SYNOPSIS
     C:

	  #include "mpi.h"

	  int MPI_File_get_byte_offset(MPI_File fh, MPI_Offset offset,
	  MPI_Offset *disp)

     Fortran:

	  INCLUDE "mpif.h" (or USE MPI)

	  INTEGER fh, ierror
	  INTEGER(KIND=MPI_OFFSET_KIND) offset, disp

	  CALL MPI_FILE_GET_BYTE_OFFSET(fh, offset, disp, ierror)

DESCRIPTION
MPI_File_get_byte_offset converts a view-relative offset into an absolute
byte position. The absolute byte position (from the beginning of the
file) of offset relative to the current view of fh is returned in disp.

This routine accepts the following arguments:

fh Specifies the file handle (handle)

offset Specifies the offset (nonnegative integer)

disp Returns the absolute byte position of offset (nonnegative
	       integer)

ierror Specifies the return code value for successful completion,
which is in MPI_SUCCESS. MPI_SUCCESS is defined in the mpif.h
	       file.

   Notes for Fortran
All MPI objects (for example, MPI_Datatype, MPI_Comm, MPI_File) are of
     type INTEGER.
