NAME
wlmprmconf - translate a PRM configuration to a WLM configuration

SYNOPSIS
       [-f] prm_infile wlm_outfile

DESCRIPTION
takes a PRM configuration (see prmconf(4)) as the input file prm_infile
and translates it to the equivalent HP-UX WLM configuration (see wlm‐
conf(4)), storing the	result	in the file wlm_outfile. You can then
edit the WLM configuration file to add SLO goals, change SLO priori‐
ties, add time-based conditions, or modify WLM tuning parameters.

OPTION
       Forces
to create the WLM configuration file even if:

	    · prmconfig(1) is not installed validates the input PRM configura‐
tion using prmconfig(1) before the translation begins)

	    · The input PRM configuration is invalid

If you do not use under these circumstances, exits without	creat‐
	    ing the WLM configuration file.

NOTES
After translating the	PRM configuration to	a WLM	configuration,
wlmd(1M) checks the validity of the generated WLM configuration. If the
output configuration is invalid, prints the wlmd(1M) error messages and
exits without deleting the generated configuration file. You can then
modify the generated WLM configuration file without modifying the orig‐
       inal PRM configuration file.

wlmd(1M) has stricter rules than prmconfig(1) regarding the validity of
a configuration. In addition, wlmd(1M) treats most PRM warnings as
errors.	Therefore, it is possible for a valid PRM configuration file
to be translated into a syntactically correct WLM configuration file
that fails the wlmd(1M) check. For example, the usernames listed in
the PRM user records may not be defined on the system, or the applica‐
tion pathnames may point to executables that do	not exist. In such
cases, modify the generated WLM configuration file to correct the
       errors reported by wlmd(1M).

RETURN VALUE
Upon completion, sets an exit status as follows:

	       0 Successful completion.

	      >0 An error occurred.
