NAME
     tg - Tigon3 gigabit ethernet driver

DESCRIPTION
     tg is the driver for the Tigon3 gigabit ethernet interfaces.

     The Tigon3 chip family is Broadcom Corporation's next generation of
     gigabit ethernet controllers, succeeding the Tigon2 chip, which was
     controlled by the eg(7m) driver.

     The tg driver currently supports the following SGI Tigon3 devices:

     P/N 9210283 - PCI card with BCM5701 MAC, copper media
     P/N 9210284 - PCI card with BCM5701 MAC, fiber media

     Note that the tg driver uses a configuration scheme that is very
     different from previous ethernet drivers.	It is no longer necessary to
     rebuild the kernel and reboot when making configuration changes.  See
     tgconfig(1M) for details.

FILES
     /hw/net/tgN   device special file for specific inteface /hw/net/if_tg
     device special file for driver configuration

BUGS
     Link negotiation and detection of link change events with fiber cards is
     not yet very robust. It may be necessary to connect these cards via a
     switch.
