NAME
     strwid, lstwid - returns the width of the specified text string

FORTRAN 77 SPECIFICATION
     integer*4 function strwid(str, length)
     character*(*) str
     integer*4 length

     integer*4 function lstwid(type, str, length)
     integer*4 type
     character*(*) str
     integer*4 length

PARAMETERS
     type      expects the type of this string.	 See the man page for charstr
	       for a description of the type argument.

     str       expects the string to be measured.

     length    expects the number of characters in the string that is to be
	       measured.

DESCRIPTION
     strwid and lstwid return the width of a text string in pixels, using the
     character spacing parameters of the current raster font.  These functions
     are useful when doing a simple mapping from screen space to world space.

     Undefined characters have zero width.
