SHAREMGR(1M) SHAREMGR(1M)

NAME
     sharemgr - shared resource manager

SYNOPSIS
     /usr/sysadm/bin/sharemgr

DESCRIPTION
The Shared Resource Manager displays the directories, removable media
devices, and printers on your workstation that are shared over the
     network with other workstations.

The directories displayed by sharemgr are those which have been exported
via nfs using the exportfs(1M) command. The removable media devices are
those which have been shared via mediad(1M). Printers are displayed if
remote workstations are allowed to print to your printers, which is
controlled by the rhosts(4) file for the lp account on your system.

sharemgr provides access to interactive guides (also called tasks) that
let you share and stop sharing directories, removable media devices, and
printers.	These guides are accessed via the buttons on the sharemgr
     window.

GUIDES
Guides, also called "tasks," are interactive windows that lead users
through the steps necessary to perform various system administration
tasks, such as adding new user accounts and configuring networking on the
     system.

A guide typically consists of a series of pages that prompt users to
enter information or select options. A user navigates through guide pages
using the Prev and Next buttons (or corresponding arrow keys). When the
user reaches the last page of a guide and clicks the OK button, the
system executes one or more privileged commands to perform the system
administration task. These commands are located in /usr/sysadm/privcmd.
See runpriv(1M) for more information about privileged commands.

Many of the guides require that a user either know the root password or
be assigned the necessary privileges (using the PrivilegeManager(1)) in
     order to perform the task.
