NAME
     pfLine2d - A two-dimensional parametric line

FUNCTION SPECIFICATION
     #include <Performer/pf/pfLine2d.h>

     static pfType*   pfLine2d::getClassType(void);

		      pfLine2d::pfLine2d();

		      pfLine2d::pfLine2d(pfReal x1, pfReal y1, pfReal t1,
			pfReal x2, pfReal y2, pfReal t2);

     void	      pfLine2d::setPoint1(pfReal x1, pfReal y1, pfReal t1);

     void	      pfLine2d::setPoint2(pfReal x2, pfReal y2, pfReal t2);

     void	      pfLine2d::getPoint1(pfReal *x1, pfReal *y1, pfReal *t1);

     void	      pfLine2d::getPoint2(pfReal *x2, pfReal *y2, pfReal *t2);

     void	      pfLine2d::evalPt(pfReal t, pfVec2 &pnt);

PARENT CLASS FUNCTIONS
     The OpenGL Performer class pfLine2d is derived from the parent class
     pfCurve2d, so each of these member functions of class pfCurve2d are also
     directly usable with objects of class pfLine2d. This is also true for
     ancestor classes of class pfCurve2d.

     void	    pfCurve2d::setBeginT(const pfReal beginT);
     void	    pfCurve2d::setEndT(const pfReal endT);
     pfReal	    pfCurve2d::getBeginT() const;
     pfReal	    pfCurve2d::getEndT() const;
     pfVec2	    pfCurve2d::getBeginPt();
     pfVec2	    pfCurve2d::getEndPt();
     pfVec2	    pfCurve2d::getBeginTan();
     pfVec2	    pfCurve2d::getEndTan();
     void	    pfCurve2d::setClosed(const pfLoop loopVal);
     pfLoop	    pfCurve2d::getClosed();
     void	    pfCurve2d::setClosedTol(const pfReal tol);
     pfReal	    pfCurve2d::getClosedTol() const;
     virtual void   pfCurve2d::evalPt(pfReal t, pfVec2& pnt) = 0;
     virtual void   pfCurve2d::evalTan(pfReal t, pfVec2& pnt);
     virtual void   pfCurve2d::evalNorm(pfReal t, pfVec2& pnt);
     virtual void   pfCurve2d::evalCurv(pfReal t, pfReal* curv);
     void	    pfCurve2d::eval(pfReal t, pfVec2 &pnt, pfVec2 &tan,
		      pfReal* curv, pfVec2 &norm)

     Since the class pfCurve2d is itself derived from the parent class pfRep,
     objects of class pfLine2d can also be used with these functions designed
     for objects of class pfRep.

     void   pfRep::setOrient(const pfMatrix *mat);
     void   pfRep::getOrigin(pfVec3& origin);
     void   pfRep::getOrient(pfMatrix& matrix);

     Since the class pfRep is itself derived from the parent class pfGeode,
     objects of class pfLine2d can also be used with these functions designed
     for objects of class pfGeode.

     pfGeoSet *	  pfGeode::getGSet(int index);
     int	  pfGeode::getNumGSets(void);

     Since the class pfGeode is itself derived from the parent class pfNode,
     objects of class pfLine2d can also be used with these functions designed
     for objects of class pfNode.

     void	    pfNode::getTravFuncs(int which, pfNodeTravFuncType *pre,

     void	    pfNode::setTravMode(int which, int mode, int val);
     int	    pfNode::getTravMode(int which, int mode) const;

     Since the class pfNode is itself derived from the parent class pfObject,
     objects of class pfLine2d can also be used with these functions designed
     for objects of class pfObject.

DESCRIPTION
     A two-dimensional parametric line is defined by two points in 2D space
     and parametric space, so that the spatial (x,y) and parametric, t, values
     vary linearly from one point to the other.

     pfLine2d::getClassType returns the pfType* for the class pfLine2d. The
     pfType* returned by pfLine2d::getClassType is the same as the pfType*
     returned by invoking the virtual function getType on any instance of
     class pfLine2d. Because OpenGL Performer allows subclassing of built-in
     types, when decisions are made based on the type of an object, it is
     usually better to use the member function isOfType to test if an object
     is of a type derived from a Performer type rather than to test for strict
     equality of the pfType*'s.

     pfLine2d::pfLine2d() creates an instance of an pfLine2d. By default the
     parametric domain is defined as [0..1].

     pfLine2d::pfLine2d(pfReal x1,pfReal y1,pfReal t1,pfReal x2,pfReal

									Page 3

pfLine2d(3pf)  OpenGL Performer 3.2.2 libpf C++ Reference Pages	 pfLine2d(3pf)

     y2,pfReal t2) creates an instance of a pfLine2d starting at p1=(x1,y1)
     and ending at p2=(x2,y2), parametrized from t1 to t2.

     The Line's parametric space is chosen such that when it is evaluated at
     t1, p1 is returned and when it is evaluated at t2, p2 is returned.

     pfLine2d::setPoint1 Sets the first endpoint of the line as per the above
     description.

     pfLine2d::setPoint2 Sets the second endpoint of the line as per the above
     description.

     pfLine2d::getPoint1 returns the values set by ::setPoint1.

     pfLine2d::getPoint2 returns the values set by ::setPoint2.

     pfLine2d::evalPt Evaluates the line at parametric value t. The evaluator
     performs linear extrapolation of the line when the values of t are
     outside the domain of t1 and t2.
