numastatd(1M) numastatd(1M)

NAME
numastatd - maintain NUMAlink device status and statistics data

SYNOPSIS
     /usr/sbin/numastatd [ -w|-n nice ] [ -i interval ]

DESCRIPTION
numastatd will at certain intervals specified by the interval parameter
(default is 10s) poll NUMAlink device status and statistics data and save
the result in kernel internal data structures. The values may be
retrieved with specific tools such as linkstat or pcp. On large systems
this process may consume significant CPU time. In such instances where
this is undesirable the scheduling characteristics of the process may be
altered via the -w and -n nice parameters. These options are exclusive.

This program will fork automatically into the background and disconnect
from the current session and controlling terminal.

The following options apply to numastatd:

-w Specifies that numastatd should be scheduled as a weightless
process. This option may not be specified together with the -n
	  option.

-n Specifies the absolute nice level at which the process should be
scheduled. The range is 1 through 39 and lower numbers specify a
higher priority. The default is normal timeshare (20) priority.

-i The interval at which the data should be polled. The default is 10
seconds. A too long interval may lead to overflows in the data and
	  will make the results inaccurate.

DIAGNOSTICS
Errors that occur during the initial configuration phase are printed to
standard error. Errors occuring during runtime are logged to syslog.
