NAME
     monobu - configures the framebuffer for monoscopic viewing

     subroutine monobu

PARAMETERS
     none

DESCRIPTION
     monobu invokes monoscopic buffer mode.  When monobu is selected in
     conjunction with single, a single color buffer is allocated.  When monobu
     is selected in conjunction with double, two color buffers (front and
     back) are allocated.

     monobu does not take effect until gconfi is called.  If neither monobu
     nor stereo is called, gconfi defaults to monoscopic buffer mode.

     The made up term monoscopic follows in an obvious way from the accepted
     stereoscopic.
