NAME
mmcinfo - Provide information and control of multimedia devices

SYNOPSIS
     /usr/sbin/mmcinfo -c | -e | -l | -u | -f | -p device

DESCRIPTION
mmcinfo provides information and control of multimedia devices such as
     cdrom, dvdrom, and dvdram drives.

device is the path to the multimedia device file.	/dev/scsi will be
prepended if the path is not absolute.

-c Send a load (close drawer) command to the device.

-e Send an eject (open drawer) command to the device.

-l Send a prevent media removal (lock drawer) command to the device.

-u Send an allow media removal (unlock drawer) command to the device.

-f Fetch and print the list of supported features of the device. This
option also prints the vendor and product information from the
	  device's inquiry data.

-p Fetch and print the current profile and the list of supported
profiles for the device. This option also prints the vendor and
product information from the device's inquiry data.

LIMITATIONS
This program uses multi media commands defined in the T10 MMC
specifications. Several of these commands are not supported by older
devices. Therefore some of the functions of this utility will not work
     properly with them.

FILES
     /usr/sbin/mmcinfo

SEE ALSO
     scsicontrol(1M), ds(7M)

NOTE
This command is normally usable only by the superuser because the
standard permissions of the devices in /dev/scsi restrict access to other
     users.

If mediad is running, it may be necessary to unmount the device before
     unlocking and ejecting the media.
