NAME
     if_atmarp - Fore IP and SPANS compliant TCP/IP driver for SGI ATM
     interfaces.

DESCRIPTION
     This software driver implements the kernel portion of the SPANS (Simple
     Protocol for ATM Network protocol (Note: Origin and Onyx2 are the only
     IRIS ATM platforms which support SPANS).  SPANS is a signaling protocol
     that was designed at Fore Systems prior to the existance of standard ATM
     signaling protocols.

     The mapping between IP address and virtual circuit are kept in an ATMARP
     table in the kernel. The size of this table (in number of entries) is
     1024 by default. If a larger table is needed, the size of the table can
     be specified by the value assigned in atmarp_entries in the if_atmarp
     master file in the /var/sysgen/master.d directory. The size of this table
     should be kept to a reasonable size because it takes up kernel memory.
     The table should be large enough to hold the maximum number of concurrent
     connections (remote hosts).
