     XtToolkitThreadInitiXlVersion)11 (RXtToolkitThreadInitialize(3Xt)

     NAME
	  XtToolkitThreadInitialize - initialize the toolkit for
	  multiple threads

     SYNTAX
	  Boolean XtToolkitThreadInitialize()

     DESCRIPTION
	  If XtToolkitThreadInitialize was previously called, it
	  returns. The application programmer must ensure that two or
	  more threads do not simultaneously attempt to call
	  XtToolkitThreadInitialize; the effect of this is undefined.
	  XtToolkitThreadInitialize returns True if the host operating
	  system has threads and the Intrinsics are thread safe.

     NOTES
	  The SGI implementation of the Intrinsics supports concurrent
	  threads only for the POSIX thread programming model
	  (pthreads). XtToolkitThreadInitialize will return False if
	  the application is not linked with the pthread run-time
	  library. See the pthreads(5) man page for information about
	  creating a pthread process.
