Xpm(3X)Xpm(3X)NAMEXpm - X Pixmap library
DESCRIPTIONXpm is the X11 standard pixmap library. It is contributed software that
is freely available. As a service to its customers, SGI passes through
this library.
/usr/share/doc/Xpm
This directory contains the Xpm documents as we get them. These
documents contain such things as the available information, and
information on how to get Xpm directly. There are no Xpm man pages
(other than this one).
libXpm
This is the pixmap library that SGI builds and ships. We just pass
through what we get. We upgrade to whatever version of libXpm is current
when we ship a product. That means that, unlike the libraries that SGI
controls (e.g. libvk), we make no attempt to check for such things as
binary compatibility. Anyone using libXpm.so needs to be aware of that;
if this is a problem, then link with libXpm.a, not the DSO.
