MPI_PACK_SIZE(3)					      MPI_PACK_SIZE(3)

NAME
     MPI_Pack_size - Returns the upper bound on the amount of space needed to
     pack a message

SYNOPSIS
     C:

	  #include <mpi.h>

	  int MPI_Pack_size ( incount, datatype, comm, size )
	  int		incount;
	  MPI_Datatype	datatype;
	  MPI_Comm	comm;
	  int	       *size;

     C++:

	  #include <mpi.h>

	  int Datatype::Pack_size(
	  int		    incount,
	  const Comm&	    comm) const

     Fortran:

	  INCLUDE "mpif.h" (or USE MPI)

	  INTEGER incount, datatype, comm, size, ierror

	  CALL MPI_PACK_SIZE(incount, datatype, comm, size, ierror)

STANDARDS
     This release implements the MPI 1.2 standard, as documented by the MPI
     Forum in the spring 1997 release of MPI: A Message Passing Interface
     Standard.

DESCRIPTION
     The MPI_Pack_size routine returns the upper bound on the amount of space
     needed to pack a message.	This routine accepts the following parameters:

     incount Specifies the count argument to the packing call (integer)

     datatype Specifies the data type argument to the packing call (handle)

     comm Specifies the communicator argument to the packing call
	       (handle)

     size Returns the upper bound on the size of the packed message in
	       bytes (integer)

     ierror Specifies the return code value for successful completion,
	       which is in MPI_SUCCESS. MPI_SUCCESS is defined in the mpif.h
