MPI_GET_COUNT(3)					      MPI_GET_COUNT(3)

NAME
     MPI_Get_count - Returns the number of entries received in a message

SYNOPSIS
     C:

	  #include <mpi.h>

	  int MPI_Get_count( status, datatype, count )
	  MPI_Status   *status;
	  MPI_Datatype datatype;
	  int	       *count;

     C++:

	  #include <mpi.h>

	  int Status::Get_count(
	  const Datatype&   datatype) const

     Fortran:

	  INCLUDE "mpif.h" (or USE MPI)

	  INTEGER status(MPI_STATUS_SIZE), datatype, count, ierror

	  CALL MPI_GET_COUNT(status, datatype, count, ierror)

STANDARDS
     This release implements the MPI 1.2 standard, as documented by the MPI
     Forum in the spring 1997 release of MPI: A Message Passing Interface
     Standard.

DESCRIPTION
     The MPI_Get_count routine returns the number of entries received in a
     message. This routine accepts the following parameters:

     status Specifies the return status of the receive operation (status).

     datatype Specifies the data type of each receive buffer element
	       (handle).

     count Returns the number of received elements. If the size of the
	       data type is zero, this routine returns a count of zero
	       (integer).

     ierror Specifies the return code value for successful completion,
	       which is in MPI_SUCCESS. MPI_SUCCESS is defined in the mpif.h
	       file.
