SYNOPSIS

#include <gssapi/gssapi.h>
OM_uint32 gss_export_name(OM_uint32 *minor_status, const gss_name_t
input_name, gss_buffer_t exported_name);
DESCRIPTION
The gss_export_name() function allows a GSS-API internal name to be
converted into a mechanism-specific name. The function produces a
canonical contiguous string representation of a mechanism name, suit‐
able for direct comparison, with memcmp(3C), or for use in authoriza‐
tion functions, matching entries in an access-control list. The
input_name parameter must specify a valid mechanism name, that is, an
internal name generated by gss_accept_sec_context(3GSS) or by
gss_canonicalize_name(3GSS).
PARAMETERS
The parameter descriptions for gss_export_name() follow:
minor_status A mechanism-specific status code.
input_name The mechanism name to be exported.
exported_name The canonical contiguous string form of
input_name. Storage associated with this string
must freed by the application after use with
gss_release_buffer(3GSS).
ERRORS
The gss_export_name() function may return the following status codes:
GSS_S_COMPLETE Successful completion.
GSS_S_NAME_NOT_MN The provided internal name was not a mechanism
name.
GSS_S_FAILURE The underlying mechanism detected an error for
which no specific GSS status code is defined.
The mechanism-specific status code reported by
means of the minor_status parameter details the
error condition.
