NAME
       tell - Return current access position for an open channel

SYNOPSIS
       tell channelId
_________________________________________________________________

DESCRIPTION
       Returns	a  decimal string giving the current access posi-
       tion in channelId.  The value returned is -1 for	 channels
       that do not support seeking.
