NAME
       localtime - print local time and date in an ASCII string

       time - get binary time and date

       SYS$DATE_TIME - Return the date and time as string

EXPLAINATION
       The  two	 Digital  UNIX functions localtime and time combine to provide
       similar functionality as the LIB$DATE_TIME  OpenVMS  run	 time  library
       routine.	  The  two functions called as localtime(time(NULL)) return an
       ASCII string with the local date and time suitable for output with  the
       puts function.
